I Can Walk!!!

I am now officially 36 weeks and off of bed rest!!...and my medicine!
I have been convinced that the baby will come as soon as I hit 36 weeks (and still kinda am)
But I kind of have a feeling that the baby is playing one big trick on me and will arrive on his scheduled c-section date at 39 weeks.
But that is the least of my worries after all of this!

So after 4 weeks of strict bed rest I have:
-watched lots of Friday Night Lights and 24 with Steve
-watched tons of Greys Anatomy by myself...so much so that I think it would be safe for me to operate on someone
-missed my last week and a half of school
-had my mom go in on the last day to say goodbye to my students for me
-missed 2 baby showers
-spent tons of time staring at the wall
-read some books
-played way too much of the "Piperoll" app
-canceled my maternity pictures
-spent more time with my mom than I have in a few years
-been outside a total of 5 times--2 trips to the hospital and 3 doctors appointments
-gotten extremely excited to have a new baby boy

In the next few weeks I will:
-finally move out of my classroom for the poor girl moving in behind me
-do my maternity pictures
-get everything ready for baby boy
-keep trying to convince baby to flip so I don't have to have a c-section
-finally meet baby boy!!!

We Made It!!!

...to 34 weeks!!!

Today I am officially 34 weeks along.
I can't believe we have made it this far.
Looking back to 2 weeks ago...and the doctors saying that the goal was to just make it through 24 hours before the baby came, it is really hard to believe that the baby is still inside of me!
Our first night in the hospital a NICU doctor came into my room to tell us all about the risks associated with delivering a 32 week preemie and what kind of complications they typically have.
It is so nice to now be at the next premature baby "milestone"!!

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday.
I was convinced that I would be even more dilated because of all the contractions I have had this past week.
I have had them as close as 3 minutes apart, but they usually spread back out to about 10 minutes apart.
I have started to ignore them because I can tell I am not truly in labor.
The doctors have told me that they will not stop the labor so I might as well only go to the hospital if I am convinced I am truly in labor.
Well, surprise, surprise, I am still 3 cm!  Which is great news.  I guess taking medicine every 4 hours and being on bed rest really is helping this little guy.
After checking me the doctor told me that the baby had flipped around and is now head down (he is breech)!
I told him that every doctor so far has thought that the baby is head down, but the ultrasound 2 weeks ago proved them wrong.
Well, we went in for a quick ultrasound, and the baby is still bum down!!!
The doctor said the baby must just have a really bony butt!
At this point I am planning on having a C-section and if I make it to 39 weeks they may try to flip the baby.

Bed rest gets harder and harder every day!
My mom just left today after waiting on me hand and foot for 2 weeks.
I don't know what I'll do without her!
Steve is planning on coming home every day for lunch to make me something to eat and get anything I need.
The doctors want me to stay on the medicine and bed rest until 36 weeks.  I already have a huge list of things planned to do as soon as I can get up!!

All in all, I am so grateful for everyone's thoughts and prayers and more than anything I am grateful for this healthy little baby that just can't seem to wait any longer to come out!
