Quick Trip to Utah

Over Father's Day weekend, our little family flew to Utah to see Steve's parents off on their mission.
They will be Mission Presidents of the Boise, Idaho Mission.
We are so excited for them, but the weekend was definitely bitter sweet.

The flight out there was a little bit crazy.  Carson was a wiggle worm and refused to sleep all day until we landed in Utah.

Everyone stayed at Steve's parents' house, so it was a little bit crazy.  I think there was about 22 of us in all.  The first morning we took off to the zoo.  We were there for about 6 hours.  Like I said, it was a little bit crazy with that many people.

Right before Carson fell asleep

Literally seconds later.  Haha

We did a family photo shoot before everyone parted ways.

Love this picture of Mom and Dad Winder and their 5 boys.

The trip home was one of our better flights with Carson.  He was SO exhausted from the trip that he sat quietly in my lap most of the time.

We are so happy and excited for President and Sister Winder.  Can't wait to go visit Boise sometime soon!

Can I Just Say...

I LOVE being a mom?
I know...cheesy.
But every time Carson is down for a nap or for the night I will, without fail, look at pictures of him.
I just miss him!
He is sleeping right now and I can't get enough of him.

Just look at that cute face!

Can't wait til he wakes up from his nap!

11 Months!

One more month til Carson is 1!  I seriously can't believe it!
I need to enjoy having a "baby" while I can.  I will refuse to call him a "toddler" for as long as possible.

Here are some highlights from the past month:

I think Carson is going through the "terrible two's" a bit early.  Oh my gosh this little boy has an attitude.  I didn't know babies could have an opinion!  He loves to throw little temper tantrums and throw his head back when he doesn't want something (or when he does...like the TV).  He always likes to say "errrr!" when he's mad at me.

He is still a picky eater.  I am trying my hardest to get him off of pureed food but it is impossible!  I make him a real lunch and offer him part of our dinner everyday.  He will usually take 1-2 bites and then want his pureed foods.  He does love his Cheerios though!

Carson is starting to understand games.  His favorite is when you chase after him and he crawls as fast as he can.  He could play this for hours.  We usually play this at night and he gets nice and sweaty and tired before his bedtime bath.

Another favorite game is when he pushes his ball ahead of himself and scrambles after it.  He played this for like 30 minutes tonight and laughed the whole time.

Carson can correctly use 3 words: "mama", "dada", and "yeah!".  I have a feeling his next word will be "ball".

He is wearing size 4 diapers and 12-18 month clothes.  I can't believe how fast this little boy grows.  I have gotten twice in the past week that he looks like a 2 year old.

Exploring Minnesota

Our second Saturday of exploring where we live was a success!
We decided to stay local in Minneapolis and check out a couple of the places we haven't been yet.
First, we went to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.  I loved the grounds and thought it was beautiful!  Way cooler than I realized it would be.
Next, we drove over to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.  Steve and I were very impressed with this museum.  It was a lot bigger and nicer than we anticipated.
The best part of our Saturday...it was all free!  Even our parking was free, which doesn't happen often downtown.

Don't mind our $1 McDonald's drinks on the stroller.  This is quickly becoming a Saturday ritual as well.

When Dada wakes up...

Lately Carson has only been able to see Steve for a couple of hours at night, if that.
Carson couldn't believe his eyes when he was able to see his dada this Saturday morning.

Love these two boys of mine!

Minnesota State Capitol

I made a whole list of things to do this summer in Minnesota.
All of our close friends have gone out of state for internships, and Steve's is here.
So we decided to make the best of it and explore:)

This past Saturday we went into St. Paul to tour the State Capitol.
It was so beautiful!  We loved the marble interior and exterior.
Steve loves architecture and is tempted to do the 2 hour architecture tour.

At the end of the tour we were able to go up to the roof of the Capitol.
