2 months!

...and a week.
Well Carson has been such a fun little developing boy this past month.
It is so exciting to see him grow.
But I also want to freeze time every day.
I get so sad that he is growing up, so Steve has to remind me often that growing up is a good thing.

Now for some updates:
-Carson is still not anywhere near sleeping through the night. He goes to sleep by 11:00 and usually wakes up between 3:30 and 5 to eat.  Then he'll go back down for a few more hours.
-We have been trying the babywise schedule so he eats, plays, and takes a nap about every 3 hours during the day.
-Carson is no good at taking naps. He usually wakes up after thirty minutes and does not want to go back to sleep.
-I am getting better at figuring out how he likes to nap--in the dark, swaddled, in his bouncer, and a white noise app on.
-He 12 lbs. 2 oz. and 23 and 3/4 in. long.
-He is almost moving up to size 2 diapers! My little chunk.
-He just got his 2 month shots and did pretty well.  He screamed a little and then fell asleep for a few hours.  He had a fever but it went away pretty quickly.
-Carson loves smiling, mostly after he has just been fed.
-He loves to coo and try to talk to us.
-He has recently figured out how to stick out his tongue and thinks it is so funny.
-He thinks Steve is the funniest person ever. Steve hardly has to do anything to get him to smile and giggle.
-His happiest moments every day occur on his playmat.

Here are some pictures from the past month. Most are from my phone and not the best quality.

This is my happy, chunky boy.  I think this picture is hilarious.

After a long play time, I put Carson in his bumbo and he leaned over to the side and fell asleep on the arm rest.

Putting our fall clothes on for the first time.  Note his huge belly--he just ate!

Still getting stuffed into the newborn insert in his car seat because his parents are too lazy to take it out!

Here he is, happy as can be after his shots.

Field Trip

As soon as Steve got into Minnesota, we started our list of things do once we got here.
My number 1 was Mall of America (obviously).
We went a few nights ago and walked all the way around the bottom 3 floors.
If you have been before, that's quite a long walk.
Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures, but I will be back again soon I'm sure.

Steve's place to go was Mayo Clinic.
Being a healthcare guy, he knows a lot about Mayo Clinic and would even like to work there one day (maybe not the Minnesota location though).
So we toted the little baby along and drove to Rochester for the day.

I put a smile on for Steve and took care of the baby.
Steve was loving every minute though.

The actual hospital looked more like a hotel, inside and out.

 Baby enjoying the exhibits.

The Plummer Building.  This was my favorite part.  The decor was really ornate and the Mayo Brothers' offices were inside, almost exactly as they left them.

Our fun may need to come to an end soon though, because Steve is starting class on Tuesday!

Carson's Nursery

Carson has been lucky enough to sleep in a pack n play for the first 6 weeks of his life.
As much as he loves the thin, hard mattress and the attached changing table that makes him roll to the side each time we change him, I'm pretty sure he likes his new nursery a little better.

The day Steve and his parents flew in to Minnesota they picked up our furniture from Babies R Us and one of the first things I did when I got here was start putting the nursery together.

It has been so nice to have him next door.  I can sleep easy knowing I can hear him cry and I don't have to hear his cute little grunts all night.

A Day in the Life of Carson...

Carson loves...

Sleeping on our bed

Getting teased by his mean parents

Bopp-n around

Watching Harry Potter

Playing on his play mat

 Hanging out in the moby

Trying to sit up in the bumbo

Tummy time

and trying out his crib for the first time.

The Move to Minnesota

We are finally in Minnesota!!!
After a long and exhausting move we are almost all unpacked in our new apartment.

About a week and a half ago we rented a moving truck and Steve's family helped us load it down with all of our belongings.
The next day we quickly cleaned our apartment and said goodbye to our home in Eagle Mountain.

Steve went and stayed with his parents that night and the 3 of them drove the moving truck and our 2 cars to Minneapolis.
I was lucky with the newborn babe and stayed in Utah for a few nights with my fam who was in town.  We waited until Steve's parents were done settling us into our apartment and my mom, Carson, and I flew into Minneapolis.

Wow! Flying with a baby was a lot harder than I anticipated.  Let's just say I didn't realize how long it would all take and he didn't get a diaper change for quite a few hours.
Lucky for me though, I have an angel baby that slept through both flights.

We are so happy to have made it safely! Steve and I are already loving Minnesota.
We were welcomed with open arms from everyone in Steve's program and already know this was the perfect choice for us.
